Austal launches US Navy littoral combat ship Oakland

Austal USA has launched the US Navy’s newest littoral combat ship, the future USS Oakland.

The 12th ship of the Independence-class LCS variant, the future Oakland will be homeported in San Diego along with the other vessels of the navy’s Littoral Combat Ship Squadron One.

Delivery of the LCS is scheduled for next year.
