The Russian Navy and local shipyard Severnaya Verf are nearly completed with the acceptance trials of the future Project 23120 ice-capable logistical support ship Vsevolod Bobrov.

The trials encompassed testing of the engines at high speed settings, communications and navigation equipment, video surveillance equipment, and anchors. Once the trials are completed, the vessel will be formally handed over to the navy.

Vsevolod Bobrov is the second Project 23120 support ship to be built for the navy. Class lead ship Elbrus was completed in 2018 and is now operating with the Russian Northern Fleet.

In addition to providing logistical support, the vessel will also be used for hydrographic research, ocean towing, and repair of vessels in distress.
