Northern Ireland-based shipbuilder Harland and Wolff has formed a new collaboration with Spain’s Navantia with the goal of jointly bidding for a range of contracts, including the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) Fleet Solid Support (FSS) Programme.

As part of this, Harland and Wolff has signed an exclusive teaming agreement with Navantia with naval architecture firm BMT participating as an exclusive subcontractor in the FSS Programme, which seeks to introduce a new class of supply ships that will deploy as part of the Royal Navy’s Carrier Strike Group.

The three companies have also identified other naval, commercial, and offshore renewable contracts to collaborate on and are exploring further opportunities.
