Seaspan Shipyards has begun construction on a joint support ship for the Royal Canadian Navy.
The support ship will be over 173 metres long and will boast a displacement of nearly 20,000 tonnes.
The joint support ships is one of two vessels of its kind ordered by the Royal Canadian Navy at Canadian shipyards.
The vessel will deliver fuel and other vital supplies to vessels at sea, offer modern medical and dental facilities, and provide support for helicopter operations and equipment repair.
