Asry launches landing craft destined for Bahrain Coast Guard

Bahraini Shipbuilder Asry has launched a new landing craft, currently being constructed for the Bahrain Coast Guard (BCG) at the company’s shipyard in the Arabian Gulf.

The fully Bahrain-based project began in September 2015, with the craft being designed and constructed by Asry.

The craft will be approximately 34.5 metres in length, and be powered by two 500kW engines to reach a top speed of 10 knots. It will have a cargo deck capacity of 40 tonnes.

The landing craft marks Asry’s first newbuild contract since launching its new construction and engineering division, which is tasked with growing the new construction program at the yard.
