Uruguayan Navy takes delivery of two more Metal Shark 10m patrol boats

The Uruguayan Navy recently took delivery of two fast patrol boats from US builder Metal Shark.

The vessels are the third and fourth boats in a series donated to the Uruguayan Navy by the US Government through the US Embassy in Uruguay’s Office of Defense Cooperation.

The patrol boats each have an aluminium alloy hull, a length of 10 metres, a beam of three metres, and twin outboard engines delivering speeds in excess of 45 knots.

The boats will be operated by the navy’s Comando de Infanteria de Marina (naval infantry force).
