Philippine Coast Guard receives first two of 13 patrol boats from Japan

The Philippine Coast Guard recently took delivery of two high-speed patrol boats donated by the Japanese government under a maritime security cooperation agreement signed by the two countries.

The boats each have a length of 12 metres and three 223kW outboard engines delivering a maximum speed of 50 knots.

Eleven other patrol boats in the same series are slated to be delivered to the Philippines as part of the agreement.
