A US Navy guided-missile cruiser and a dry cargo ship made contact during an underway replenishment off the southeastern coast of the United States on Tuesday, February 5.

The Ticonderoga-class cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (pictured) and the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Robert E. Peary were able to safely operate after the incident.

There were no injuries among the crews while both vessels reportedly suffered only minor damage.

The ships were conducting a replenishment-at-sea when their sterns touched at approximately 16:00 local time.
