The US Navy will commission its newest guided-missile destroyer, the future USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116), during a ceremony in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday, December 1.
The ship honours Korean War naval aviator and Medal of Honor recipient Captain Thomas J. Hudner Jr.
The future Thomas Hudner will be the sixty-sixth Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. It will be homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida.
