Mauritius receives second fast patrol boat

MCGS Valiant, the second fast patrol vessel (FPV) designed and constructed by Goa Shipyard for the Mauritius Coast Guard (MCG), recently embarked on its maiden voyage to Mauritius.

The vessel is primarily designed for coastal patrol, anti-piracy, anti-smuggling, anti-drug surveillance, anti-poaching operations, and search and rescue.

The vessel is fitted with 30mm CRN-91 gun, 12.7mm HMGs and 7.62 mm MMGs and is capable of achieving a speed of 37 knots. During the trials the vessel achieved 37.5 knots and reportedly met all other design parameters.
