Shearwater GeoServices bags 3D OBN work for Petrobras

Petrobras has awarded Shearwater GeoServices a contract for deepwater ocean bottom node (OBN) seismic acquisition for the Tupi and Iracema projects in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil.

The surveys will start in the third quarter of 2021 and are expected to last approximately nine months. These will cover a total of 2,882 square kilometres.

Shearwater will use SW Diamond and one additional vessel to execute the contract.

The company has stated that this will be the largest OBN seismic survey ever performed in Brazil.
