MMT, Equinor to carry out surveys in US waters

Equinor Wind US has awarded a contract for geophysical survey services to MMT US, a subsidiary of Sweden’s MMT Group.

The contract covers high-resolution geophysical, benthic surveys and shallow subsurface surveys for the planning and engineering of Equinor’s lease area offshore New England. The project will be performed utilising the survey vessel Stril Explorer, which is equipped with a high-speed, reduced noise remotely operated vehicle (ROV).

Operations are expected to commence in the late summer of 2020 and will run continuously through to the second quarter of 2021.
