Guardian Geomatics bags Australia-Singapore cable route survey

Offshore Solution

Australian marine survey company Guardian Geomatics has been awarded a cable route survey contract by Singapore-based electricity provider Sun Cable.

The survey will cover a 3,800-kilometre-long high voltage direct current submarine cable that will stretch from Darwin to Singapore. This cable will supply Singapore and Indonesia with renewable electricity generated from a solar and battery storage farm that will be laid out across thousands of hectares in the Northern Territory under Sun Cable’s Australia-ASEAN Power Link project.

Guardian Geomatics will commence project preparations later this month, with initial plans to utilise sister company Guardian Offshore’s vessel Offshore Solution to deliver the work, starting later in 2020.
