Van Oord installs geotextile tubes for Lake IJsselmeer fish migration project

Contracted by the Dutch Province of Friesland, Van Oord has successfully installed five geotextile tubes in Lake IJsselmeer near Kornwerderzand as part of the construction work for the Fish Migration River project.

The specially developed geotextile fabric tubes were filled with dredged sand and were used to create a 340-metre-long dam.

The tubes were developed by local manufacturer TenCate Geosynthetics.
