Spanish LNG terminal operator Reganosa has completed upgrading the jetty at its Mugardos LNG terminal in the autonomous region of Galicia.

The company said the rebuilt jetty will enable the terminal to accommodate small-sized LNG carriers as well as large- and medium-sized ships.

Enhancements include four flexible cryogenic hoses specifically for use in transferring LNG to small-sized carriers. The four fixed arms that are already in place will be allotted for larger ships.

The jetty upgrade is part of a broader modernisation program that will make the Mugardos terminal a key LNG hub in the north-western Iberian Peninsula.
