Van Oord’s newest LNG-fueled dredger floated out

Keppel Offshore and Marine (Keppel O&M) subsidiary Keppel Singmarine has floated out the second trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) in a series of three ordered by Dutch marine contractor Van Oord.

Once completed, Vox Apolonia will have a total installed power of 14,500 kW, a length of 138 metres, a beam of 28 metres, a hopper capacity of 10,500 cubic metres, and accommodations for 22 people. Dredging equipment will consist of a suction pipe with a submerged dredge pump and two shore discharge dredge pumps.

The dredger’s engines will be able to operate on LNG.

Completion and commissioning of Vox Apolonia will take place at the outfitting quay of Keppel’s facilities in Singapore.
