USACE, Ohio EPA ink Ashtabula Harbor dredging agreement

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Buffalo District the the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency have entered into an agreement to restore wetlands habitat and provide cost-effective disposal of dredged material in Ohio's Ashtabula Harbor.

The project seeks to restore approximately 6.67 hectares of fish and wildlife hemi-marsh habitat and dispose of around 256,000 cubic metres of dredged material from the harbour.

The works have a total approximate cost of US$10 million.
