Chinese builder HID Dredger recently delivered a new cutter suction dredger to an unnamed operator in the UAE.

The non-self-propelled vessel has a length of 45 metres, a beam of 8.9 metres, and a total installed power of 1,885 kW at 1,500 rpm courtesy of a Mitsubishi main engine. A Cummins 1,007kW auxiliary engine is also fitted.

The vessel can dredge up to 14 metres even on extremely hard soil.

The dredger is currently deployed on a project cleaning up coastal and offshore waters in support of the UAE Navy.
