Shipbuilder Deep Diggers has launched two new cutter suction dredgers (CSDs) in a series at its facilities in Chattogram, Bangladesh.

The dredgers are being built in fulfilment of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with US-based manufacturer DSC Dredge in 2019. Under the MOU, Deep Diggers undertook importation of all dredger components from the US as well as steel fabrication of the hulls, side pontoons, ladders, and spuds.

The CSDs’ dredging equipment are powered by Caterpillar diesel engines.
