Port of Houston, USACE ink agreement on channel dredging project
The Port of Houston Authority and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have entered into a project partnership agreement (PPA) for the deepening and widening of the Houston Ship Channel in Texas.
The port authority and the USACE expect the initial dredging contract under the billion-dollar project will be awarded as early as October 2021.
Port officials said the project will be the eleventh major improvement of the channel in its more than 100-year history.
