Odense port dredging project open for bids

The planned port expansion at Terminal North at Lindø.

A tender to dredge the wide fairway before the Lindø Port of Odense in Denmark has been released.

The 150-metre-wide fairway is to be deepened from 7.5 metres to 8.0 metres from the entrance at Gabet to the port of Lindo. The estimated total volume of dredging is 140,000 cubic metres.

“The deepening of the fairway has to be executed along the hole channel, but the main volumes will be in the bends of the channel,” the port said.

“The deepening concerns only the wide 150-metre fairway to a new depth of -8.3 metres in total. The narrow deep fairway of -11 metres will not be dredged.”

The deadline for bids for the Fairway expansion tender is December 5. The port said it hoped the dredging would start next month.
