New dredger for East Africa-based mining operator nearing completion

The Damen Shipyards Group is set to deliver a customised cutter suction dredger (CSD) to an undisclosed East Africa-based operator sometime in August 2022.

The stationary dredger is available in stock and will be delivered within four weeks of the order. It will be used to mine ilmenite at the customer’s facilities.

Outfitting of the CSD is underway at Damen Dredging Equipment in the Netherlands. Custom features include a spud carriage installation and additional dredging instrumentation.
