Inland Dredging of Alabama has completed maintenance dredging of the stretch of the Mississippi River that passes through the Memphis District of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

Approximately 985,000 cubic metres of sediment were dredged from all 10 harbours in Memphis District under a US$7.9 million contract originally awarded in April 2019. The dredging works were carried out over a span of five months to keep the river channel at a depth that would allow cargo barges to easily transport goods.

All 10 harbours have been dredged annually since 2015.
