Mexican navy secretariat takes delivery of five new dredgers

The Mexican Secretariat of the Navy (Secretaria de la Marina; SEMAR) has taken delivery of five new cutter suction dredgers built by Damen Shipyards Group.

Four of the dredgers each have a total installed power of 1,293 kW and are capable of dredging 4,000 cubic metres of material per hour at depths of up to 14 metres. The fifth dredger has a total installed power of 941 kW and can dredge up to 3,000 cubic metres per hour at depths of 12 metres.

The dredgers will be operated by SEMAR at various locations in support of naval and civil activities.
