Jan De Nul begins maintenance dredging at Nieuwpoort marinas

Jan De Nul Group has begun carrying out maintenance dredging works in Nieuwpoort on the Belgian coast.

The works will cover the port access channel and in the marinas. A large part of the dredging works are being executed using the cutter suction dredger Hendrik Geeraert and the split hopper barges Magellano and Verrazzano.

The vessels being used by Jan De Nul on the project all run on 100 per cent sustainable marine fuel in compliance to the requirement of the Flemish government’s Marine and Coastal Services agency that the dredging of Nieuwpoort be carried out with adequate means of reducing CO2 emissions.
