First steel cut for new TSHD for Great Lakes Dredge and Dock

Conrad Shipyard has cut the first steel for a new trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) ordered by Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company (GLDD).

The dredger will have a length of 105 metres, a beam of 21 metres, a total installed power of 12,300 kW, a DP system, and a hopper capacity of approximately 4,900 cubic metres. It will be deployed for channel deepening, maintenance dredging, beach nourishment, and coastal restoration projects with short- to medium-distance transport requirements.

Delivery is scheduled before the end of the second quarter of 2023.
