Finnish yard secures dredger order from Polish port operator

Finnish boatbuilder Tyovene has secured an order for a new trailing suction hopper dredger from the Maritime Office in Gdynia, Poland.

The vessel will be designed by Tyovene in partnership with Netherlands-based engineering firms C-Job Naval Architects and Holland Marine Technologies.

The dredger is scheduled to be completed within 21 months of contract signing. It will perform maintenance and preservation work on the five metres deep main waterway from the Gulf of Gdansk through the Vistula Lagoon to the Elbląg River as well as maintain track depth parameters of smaller ports of the Vistula Lagoon, where depths can reach up to 18 metres.
