The Philippine Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed desilting works at Estero de Tripa de Gallina, the longest creek in Metro Manila and one of the tributaries connecting the Pasig River to Manila Bay.

The dredging works successfully removed an estimated 34,585 cubic metres of silt to ensure the continuous flow of water and hence prevent flooding and water contamination in larger bodies of water connected to the creek.

The project had an approximate cost of PHP 46.5 million (US$910,000).
