The US Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Buffalo District has awarded a US$5.98 million contract to Michigan-based Walsh Service Solutions to conduct dredging of the federal navigation channel in Cleveland Harbor in Ohio.

The dredging is scheduled to take place during two seasonal periods, from May to July and October through December.

A total of approximately 250,000 cubic yards (191,138 cubic metres) of material is contracted to be mechanically dredged from the bed of the harbour between the two periods. The material will then be hydraulically placed in both contractor-furnished and USACE-operated confined disposal facilities.
