Dredging Africa orders CSD

Dredging Africa has ordered a cutter suction dredger (CSD) from Damen Shipyards Cape Town for delivery in March.

Dredging Africa Director Arend van de Wetering said it intends to use the CSD on multiple contracts in South Africa and southern Africa.

The modular nature of the design means that the dredger can be transported easily, in just three containers, to the remotest of locations.

Featuring 254kW of power, the 19-metre, 30-tonne vessel is capable of dredging 1,000 cubic metres per hour at depths of six metres.
