Development nearly completed on Maldives’ Ukulhas Harbour

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has confirmed that development works are nearly completed at Ukulhas Harbour in Alif Alif Atoll.

MTCC said that quay wall construction and harbour pavement installation works have been completed while harbour dredging operations have reached 97 per cent completion.

The scope of works for the project include harbour dredging operations to remove 4,954 cubic metres of sediment and construction of facilities such as a five-metre breakwater, a 484-metre revetment, a 264-metre quay wall, a connectivity bridge, a concrete jetty, and an apron. Installation works will meanwhile encompass 1,640 square metres of harbour pavement and harbour lights.

The value of the project is estimated at MVR40.3 million (US$2.63 million).
