Royal IHC and Cochin Shipyard (CSL) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the design and construction of new trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) for Dredging Corporation of India (DCI).

The agreement aims to develop an advanced 8,000m³ and/or 12,000m³ TSHD for DCI to meet the increasing demand for port maintenance and dredging services in India.

The vessel will be the eleventh TSHD to join the DCI fleet.
