Contracts signed for lotus-shaped island in Vietnam

A man-made island in the shape of a lotus, Vietnam’s national flower, will be built at Phu Quoc in the country’s south west.

TTC Land Estate Investment Group (TTC) and Royal HaskoningDHV signed a contract for the design of the artificial island in the special economic zone.

It will be part of a larger waterfront and coastal development by TTC Land Estate Investment Group that is expected to attract tourism.

Using sustainable solutions to preserve the island’s features, the work includes the design of the land reclamation, breakwater, beaches and revetments, and a water quality study to ensure the island is climate proof.
