C&C Marine launches cutter suction dredger General MacArthur

C&C Marine and Repair recently launched General MacArthur, one of the largest cutter suction dredgers to be built in the United States.

The dredger, which was ordered by Texas-based Callan Marine, has a length of 88 metres and a draught of 2.7 metres. It will be powered by three Cat-MAK diesel engines with a combined output of 17,896 kW and will be capable of dredging at depths of up to 27 metres.

General MacArthur is designed to perform capital, maintenance, and beneficial use dredging such as marsh creation and beach renourishment.
