Boskalis subsidiary selects Singapore yard for dredger upgrades, repairs

A fully owned subsidiary of Royal Boskalis Westminster has awarded contracts to Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard for repairs and upgrades on two trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs).

Work on the first TSHD has commenced and it is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2022, while the second TSHD is scheduled for arrival in Q3 2022 with re-delivery in Q4 2022.

Each dredger will be integrated with a new owner-furnished block that will increase each vessel’s LOA from its existing 156 metres to 201 metres upon completion. At the same time, both vessels will undergo refurbishment including the overhauling and replacement of equipment.
