Hall Contracting to deploy first backhoe dredger for Trinity Inlet work

Hall Contracting of Buderim is set to deploy a recently acquired backhoe dredger to assist in widening and deepening the Trinity Inlet shipping channel in Cairns.

The 2014-built vessel, christened Woomera, is the first backhoe dredger to join the Hall Contracting fleet which had previously consisted solely of cutter suction dredgers.

The vessel has a length of 65 metres and capacity to dredge depths of up to 26 metres.

The Trinity Inlet dredging works, which are slated to begin in mid-July, is Woomera‘s first project under Hall Contracting.
