Shearwater completes acquisition of Schlumberger marine seismic business

Shearwater GeoServices Holding has completed the acquisition of the marine seismic acquisition assets and operations of WesternGeco, the geophysical services product line of Schlumberger.

The transaction worth US$600 million has increased Shearwater’s fleet of seismic vessels to 14.

Shearwater now also holds a portfolio of proprietary technologies and inhouse processing software acquired from WesternGeco.
