Egyptian Ministry of Defence orders 10 CSDs and five DMCs

Royal IHC has secured an order from the Egyptian Ministry of Defence’s Engineering Authority for 10 cutter suction dredgers (CSD) and five multi-purpose work boats.

The order also includes three floating multi-booster stations, each delivering 895kW of power and 10 1,500-metre HDPE floating pipelines.

The CSDs will be used to maintain lakes and waterways including removal of excessive sedimentation, deepening of waterways and environmental dredging.

The work boats can perform all supporting operations for the CSD, including hoisting cutterhead and pump parts, anchor handling, floating pipeline handling, towing, delivering stores and crew changes.
