Singapore: Beng Kuang Marine (BKM) has executed the load out of its maiden deckhouse accommodation block, which was constructed at BKM's new 32.8-hectare yard in Batam, Indonesia, onto new pipe laying barge.

BKM is a provider of corrosion prevention services, infrastructure engineering services, and supply and distribution of hardware equipment and tools to the marine and offshore oil and gas industries.

Last September, BKM's subsidiary, Asian Sealand Engineering, secured a US$1.4 million contract from Leighton Contractors, Singapore, a subsidiary of one of Australian development and contracting company, Leighton Holdings.

Subsequent to the load out of the 260-man accommodation and pipe-laying barge, BKM will proceed with the fixing and installation of the barge's controls and instruments.

The commissioning and testing of 'Leighton Eclipse' is expected to be in September 2009.
