Seattle-based Kvichak Marine Industries has delivered the first of three new Bristol Bay gillnetter boats for use off the coast of Alaska.
This new, top house design all-aluminum jet-propelled gillnetter is a product of the Kvichak design team and is powered by twin Volvo D11 EVEC-E engines rated for 380kW coupled to ZF 305-3 marine gears and Hamilton HJ364 water jets providing a top speed of 35 knots.
The vessel is 9.75 metres long, 4.90 metres wide and has a draught of just 0.90 metres that eases netting in shallow waters.
Accommodation is provided for five crew and a Webasto diesel heater is installed to keep them warm in the freezing weather of Bristol Bay.
