Although Cook was British he has gathered an enormous following in those parts of central Europe. Importantly, they are also the location of significant collections of Cook and Pacific ethnographica and ephemera.
A large part of that material is included among the more than 500 carefully chosen illustrations shown here.
There have been many books on James Cook and this is certainly one of the most impressive. It focuses on only one part of his extensive explorations but it is undoubtedly the part for which he is best known.
Expensive but well worth the price.
