New Zealand-based Global Maritime Education and Training Association (GlobalMET) has released the final program for the association's Work Boat Forum, to be held at Marina Bay Sands on February 27 in conjunction with the Asia Work Boat 2013 exhibition.
The forum will debate major work boat crew competence issues, as well as provide input into the "statement of outcomes that summarises what needs to be done".
"Whether you work with supply boats, dredgers, tugs, AHTS, survey vessels, fishing vessels, pontoons, cranes, floating cranes, barges, jack up rigs, ROVs, barges – any type of vessel not solely engaged in maritime transport, you will benefit from participation in the discussion about certification and training for work boats and the forum will benefit from your input," said a GlobalMET spokesperson.
"Provision of competence for the growing, major sector of maritime activity is in serious need of review – and it is highly appropriate that this is done in the great maritime hub that is Singapore."
Registration is SGD200 and can be made via email.
