From Baird Maritime
This is a very unusual but nonetheless interesting book. Readers should be warned that it contains "occasional course language" and some quite "descriptive" passages.
If you know the author, as this reviewer did in the past, you would know that the book is a pretty accurate account of a very adventurous life well lived.
Larger than life in every respect, Mounsey is one of those characters who, almost inevitably, gravitates towards the fishing industry. That industry has provided him, aided by his own cheek, energy and enthusiasm, with a magic carpet like ride to a life of travel and adventure.
While the travel and adventure are foremost in his book the author also casts his jaundiced eye on various aspects of fisheries management and research.
Richard Mounsey's many friends around the world will find this account of the first half of his career fascinating. Those who don't know him should read it as an insight into the foibles of the fishing industry during the final three decades of the twentieth century.
