India's Cochin Shipyard has submitted a plan to the Kerala Government for a new ship repair complex and shipyard.
The proposed site for the yard is situated at an international transshipment port in Vizhinjam, Kerala. The area in view is a 150 to 200 acre site, with a waterfront length of 1.5 to 2km, which would have connectivity to the shipping channel.
Cochin is likely to submit the proposal to the state government as well.
