Knowing full well how difficult it is to compile such lists, let alone obtain the accompanying high quality photographs, your reviewer has great admiration for Mr Hornsby and his work.
Ship owners and their ships are fast moving and elusive characters. Mr Hornsby has done well to have pinned so many of them down in his book.
His book is described as the "companion volume" of the compiler's other previously reviewed book "Ocean Ships". Between the two of them you gain an excellent and quite detailed overview of Europe's ships and the fleets they comprise.
An impressive piece of research and compilation which is presented very attractively.
