UAE's CCC Underwater Engineering takes delivery of new inspection ROV
Saab UK has sold and delivered a new remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to Abu Dhabi-based CCC Underwater Engineering (CCCUE) to expand the latter's offshore inspection and construction capabilities across its global operations.
The new craft replaces an earlier Saab ROV acquired by CCCUE in 2001 and is the second in a series to be delivered to the same customer since 2023.
With this latest purchase, CCCUE now operates a fleet of nine Saab ROVs.
Tavis Letherby, Survey/ROV Manager at CCCUE, said the ROV's, "proven performance, combined with its user-friendly design, makes it an ideal fit for the complex demands of our projects."
Saab said the compact ROV is designed for a wide range of offshore inspection and intervention tasks. It is a 800 metres-rated vehicle fitted with ten 500V DC thrusters, eight horizontal and two vertical, with the option of a third vertical thruster, providing improved handling and speeds of up to 3.5 knots.
The ROV accommodates two manipulators plus a wide range of sensors and heavy duty tooling skids, making it ideal for tasks that include drill support, pipeline survey, IRM, and salvage.
