Kenoil Marine Services, a company that supplies bunkered marine gas oil and lubricants to Asian markets including Thailand, Vietnam, and the global bunkering hub of Singapore, has recently taken delivery of the bunker barge 'Ken Glory'.
Delivered in September, the 'Ken Glory' joins Kenoil's established fleet of bunker barges and tankers. Displacing 1,102 tonnes fully loaded, the all-steel vessel measures 44.5 metres in length, with a moulded breadth of 10 metres, a moulded depth of five metres and a design draught of 4.3 metres.
Constructed under survey to the China Classification Society, the 'Ken Glory' is double-hulled and features notations for coastal area operations, as well as 30 nautical mile voyages or plying operations in and around the Port of Singapore. This notation permits the vessel to operate around the Outer Port Limit of Singaporean waters.
The 'Ken Glory's' builder, China-based Xin Yue Feng, also developed the design for the vessel in-house, with the vessel's profile reminiscent of an oil tanker reduced to work boat proportions.
Initially, the craft had a design speed of 10 knots. Following delivery however, the vessel proved a top performer with a maximum speed of 11 knots and a cruising speed of 10.5 knots. A pair of 373kW engines powers the vessel, each unit driving a fixed-pitch four-blade propeller via a T300 gearbox. This power train is then backed up by a set of 90kW Shanghai Kangcheng auxiliary engines.
The vessel is able to transport up to 700m3 of bunkering fuel across six separate cargo holds.
