From Baird Online:
If there is one place in Shanghai where you can be assured of peace and quiet from the city’s hustle and bustle, it is in this very interesting, but little known, museum in the grounds of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The museum, jointly founded by the University and Hong Kong’s Tung Foundation, contains a permanent exhibition of photographs, maps, archival material, maritime trade routes and artifacts reflecting China’s maritime history since the Neolithic Period.
There is a very good display of ship models and junks and the C.Y.Tung Gallery gives an interesting insight into the man who built up the enormous C.Y. Tung shipping empire. Well worth tracking down.
