OOCL upgrades Scandinavian Express Service

OOCL is upgrading their existing Scandinavian Express (SBX) service with the addition of a sixth vessel with a nominal capacity of 1,000TEU. She will be deployed directly into its SBX1 network increasing capacity by five percent.

The SBX2 network will be upgraded from two vessels to three vessels with the phasing in of the OOCL 'Nevskiy' from the SBX1, thereby increasing weekly capacity by 45 percent. The overall capacity increase across the entire SBX network will be 20 percent.

Kotka will be added to the SBX2 rotation in addition to a second call at St. Petersburg, which will be calling at Petrolesport (PLP). OOCL will maintain three weekly calls to St. Petersburg First Container Terminal (FCT).

SBX1 rotation: Rotterdam – Antwerp – St. Petersburg – Gdynia – Gothenburg – Hamburg – Gdynia – St. Petersburg – Rotterdam

SBX2 rotation: Hamburg – St. Petersburg – Kotka – Rauma – Gavle – Bremerhaven – Hamburg – Klaipeda – St. Petersburg – Hamburg

The new service is scheduled to commence from Hamburg on May 15.
