Oman Shipping Company (OSC) has received delivery of the 'Samail', a very large crude carrier (VLCC), from Universal Shipbuilding in Kawasaki, Japan.
The 300,000DWT, Panama-flagged ship measures 330 metres in length and 60 metres across the beam. She will be the first VLCC to be technically managed in house by OSC subsidiary Oman Ship Management Company.
OSC operates a fleet of 29 vessels with a total tonnage of 4.2 million DWT, which will reach 8 million DWT with the delivery of twelve ships on order by the end of 2012.
